New to 322

Hi, New to the 322, though have a classic LSE and P38 so know Landrover..lol
Anyway 08 3.6 TDV8 loosing a small amount of coolant now and again. Can't see anything, however there is a faint small of anti freeze every so often.
Cant see anything, but not much room to see, but are there any common problems to look for? It does have rear heating as well.
TIA

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Santorini Black

Welcome and hope you enjoy the FF and forum.

ISTR there are a few threads on this about if you search (try coolant leak). Could be a number of things such as pipes in the engine bay or gaskets in obscure areas. One that springs to mind is something regarding the pipes feeding the rear heater, I think ( await flames Confused if I'm wrong). Can corrode behind the under body shields I think and thus difficult to see.

sorry Stan, should this be in maintenance and mods?? Cheers
Richard

Re: New to 322

thanks, i'll wait till a drier day and have a poke around, I think it's towards the front of the engine and might be a rad leak at a certain temp as you can smell coolant in the fan wash after a run..Just can't believe how difficult it is to see anything after the other Rover's!

Thermostat housing is a common cause of coolant leaks on these. It sits between the cylinder banks at the front of the engine. The leaking coolant sits in the V and the water evaporates leaving a red residue that can be seen from above using a torch with the engine cover removed. Worth a check. Previously a 2008MY Tonga Green Vogue SE 3.6 TDV8
