Does anyone want a winch mount for L405?

I have agreed a deal with a custom fabrication company that will supply me with a custom built winch mount for the L405. However the minimum order is 5 units.

So I will have a few of these in my garage and at £580 a pop it would be good to move a couple on

Is anyone interested?

If nobody else is making them, I’d try offering them on the US forums.

I might be. Any details or renderings on the finished design and what winches will fit? 2021 P525 | Eiger Gray

The bolt mounting pattern is industry standard (254x114.3mm)

I will show the finished product once its built. But given the vast amount of space behind the bumper, it will fit a whole array of winches from Warn to Goldfish, Raptors etc.

I will be doing a deal with the company building the high speed winch for me and should be able to also offer these direct at a discounted price.

I am building in a 13,500lb winch with a 216:1 gearing made with high grade carbon steel gearbox. 28 meters of 13mm synthetic winch rope with a breaking strength of 30,000lb it also includes 2 wireless winch controls and 1 wired controler.

I will post up some pictures of the build and final product and also step by step installation pictures etc.

I am also making sure the manufacturer's accommodate the adaptive cruise control radar as this is mounted in the existing crash bar at the moment.

I’m intrigued. Not that I wouldn’t respect anyone who bolts a winch to the front of there L405. Why?

Maybe secretly I like knowing that in an apocalyptic situation I have all the kit I need Rolling with laughter

After having high performance Audis for a number of years, I made the move to a Range Rover because it has the go anywhere reputation. So in 2020 i will be embarking on a Silk Trail type journey across Europe visiting all the historical WW1 and WW2 sites and intend to exclusively travel across country on green lanes and off road. So I need every eventuality covered.

So the idea is to test everything in the UK every scenario I may encounter etc.

If possible, I intend to do this to raise money for RAF veterans to provide befriending and welfare support on behalf of the RAF association. But before I can do that and commit to anything, I need to be sure the vehicle is up to the job Thumbs Up

It will be hidden and in my opinion a much better job. For some reason they cut out a section of bumper where the parking sensors mount, for no apparent reason. Mine actually looks cleaner with less of a change to the exterior.

It's dark at the moment so I cant take a good picture but i will post a couple of snaps non the less

This is it in Acid etch primer ready for paint
ill take some more tomorrow

Regarding your question on the adaptive cruise, I had to move and re mount the radar to a different location.

I used epoxy liquid met, and I bonded 3 bolts to the plastic bumper so that i could re-mount the ACC in a different location.

If your capable with a set of scanners then it's easy enough. Thumbs Up
