ABS ECU, the 3 Amigos & steering angle sensor issue

Hi guys, I’ve got an issue related to the 3 Amigos on the dash. When I checked the cause on my icarsoft handheld it told me I had a ABS Ecu fault so I swapped it out for a spare. Put it back on the computer, clears the faults & all ABS faults now gone except the 3 lights, abs, traction & hill decent are still on. Now I check again & I get “steering angle sensor initialisation” so I do the lock to lock on start up with the steering but it did nothing.

Any ideas what I need to do now as that “steering angle sensor initialisation” was not showing before I swapped out the abs ecu. How do I get the lights off?

Regards

Paul

Yes, you need to initialise the steering angle sensor (it needs doing if the ABS ECU is renewed).

The IIDTool can do this.

Ok thank you. Only thing is I don’t have an IID tool. Would a computer from a typical garage be able to do this or does it have to be Land Rover specific? 2004 RR 4.4 V8 Autobiography

You need to get the replacement coded to the car otherwise it will always show the 3 amigos. This can’t be done with IID. You need either T4 or Autologic No7 - 2003 V8 Vogue

Steering angle sensor calibration yes, not coding though. It will always show the lights until it’s coded No7 - 2003 V8 Vogue
