Remote Park Heating - Car is firing up engine, not using FBH

I've recently acquired a MY2017 4.4 SDV8 AB, which is a lovely vehicle.

I've set up all of the InControl account and downloaded the app to my phone, and everything is working fine.

My car (all AB's I believe..?) has "Park Heating with Remote Control" - which I understand is the succesor to the Webasto unit I had in previous model year Range Rovers.

However, when I use the InControl app to pre-heat my vehicle, the engine fires up instead of the car using the Fuel Burning Heater. This is okay to a degree, as I get the desired result, but I would be happier if it used the FBH from a security perspective. I don't like the thought of my car sat with the engine running when I am not present.

Can anybody please shed any light on this issue?

From experience I know that LR removed the FBH start function from their app for the MY17 model and replaced it with engine start function. The FBH start function was active on the MY16 app. No idea why and I agree it’s annoyingly. It’s been discussed on here before. MY23 D350 HSE

As I understand it the InControl app always starts the engine to preheat the vehicle, if "Park Heating with Remote Control" is fitted then you should have a separate plip for operating the FBH, which in the L405 is made by Eberspächer.

Pre-MY17 the In-control App operated the FBH (if fitted) rather than starting the engine, meaning the App hasn’t always started the engine. MY23 D350 HSE

Thanks for the input - seems as if a big step backwards has been taken here with the app developers.

I've tried the search function, but can't seem to find where this has been discussed before. If anybody has a link it would be much appreciated.
