TDV8 Oil Pressure

Help Please!
TDV8 - just done oil and filter change. Now when hot oil pressure waning comes on the usual "Stop Engine" message.
I have filled with Shell Helix HX7 5w-30 Could it be this oil? Seems strange that this starts after the oil change.
Thinking of ditching the oil and trying another make. Has anyone had this before or any thoughts ?
Many Thanks
Big J

What brand of oil filter did you use?
Did you locate the spigot into the locating hole while refitting?

Hi Mickey
Thanks for quick reply. Oil filter was a cheap pattern part (I know may be a mistake!).
Good thought about the spigot will pull it off and recheck first.
I may have done a silly but fairly sure I did not. Don't think the filter would cause this problem would it?
I can remember from too may years ago Shell 4 seasons oil causing the same thing with BMC A series engines.
Yes I am that old!!

Hi Mikey
Sorry I added a "c" to your handle!
Searching the forum I have come up with someone else who had exactly the same. I will pop off to "Stealer" on Monday get the original filter and see how it goes.
Just by the by I see you are in Dundee, if you ae every in trouble in Edinburgh I can strongly recommend Whites Auto Service.
They are brilliant, near to Haymarket, and have baled me out twice when I have been in that area.
Great people.
Regards
Big J

Have heard about White's, I won't be using them however. There is a place in Dundee Wink Laughing

FWIW, I only use OEM oil filters when doing servicing on my own, or any customers cars, or Genuine LR, if still under warranty. Negates the risk of spurious quality parts, as you have found out. Hopefully its not caused any long term damage Bow down
