Australia 2003 Range Rover HSE Td6 Zambezi Silver
L322 Transfer case motor

Speed change motor sometimes stuck in Neutral so when it was in high range i removed motor to dismantle and inspect internally.
I did not have any luck only managed to now have box stuck in neutral as it had several times before.
As the shop manual advises that the shift sleeve must be set to high speed before motor removal I now have the issue that I need to remove the motor to fit replacement whilst box is in neutral.
Will this be a problem when installing replacement?
One must align the master spline to fit the motor assembly but if the motor spline requires rotation to do so that seems to be difficult.
Any advice greatly accepted.

Remove the housing/cover from the armature on the shift motor, fit this motor back on, and manually wind the transfer box (spinning the armature by hand) back to high speed .

Thanks for your information.
Should I assume clockwise rotation or does it not matter.
How will I know when it has got into high ratio?

To be honest, I can't remember which way to spin it, but wind until it won't go any further then put in the key and see where you are. I remember a distinctive clonk or end point. .

It is anti-clockwise for high ratio.
Now I can use the car until new motor arrives.
