Wiper blades

What is the situation for L405 replacement. Having gone through the pain with 322 it is now time to replace on mine. Do I have to be raped by the stealer or are their either better wipers or a less costly route for OE. letters not necessarily in the right order

I ordered some online following a message from the guys here that there was a deal but they didn't fit my 2017MY. Entirely different attachment which the suppliers were not aware of. I've not found any since tbh. Even when I do I don't know how to expose the rear wiper blade as the "knack/routine" doesn't seem to work either.
Any help on this issue would be appreciated. Hope you don't feel I'm hijacking here.
Cheers
Huw

different fittings early vs later - not sure exactly when the cutover was - details on this thread -

https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic32300.html

The older wiper fitting looks like this

If yours looks like there's a small square release tab, then it's the later fitting

I had a smeary rear wiper so ordered a Bosch H426 which is specific to the L405 2013 onwards.
To fit turn on the rear wiper and then open the boot when it is half way across this stops it moving, jam the boot open and fit the new blade. Thumbs Up

Do you have early or late front wipers ?

A bog standard 17" Bosch wiper fitted mine..... (see thread a few posts earlier)

In the post Alistair refers to is details of the wiper service mode position to access the rear wiper so you don't need to mess about with the back door. To summarise:-

Hold the wiper stalk down as far as it will go and then press ignition on (you don't want to start engine though, so don't press brake pedal). When you release the stalk the front wipers will move up a quarter sweep and the rear wiper will move to the 6 oclock position. Leave the smart key in the car otherwise they will return back again.

The rear 17' H426 only fits 2013-16 - for MY2017 onwards rear wiper blades is pinchfit (Bosch A425H). Caused me some confusion though as the H426 didn't fit my 2016 as I discovered it has the pinchfit when I went to fit it - had to order the A425H one and that fitted fine. Current Fleet:-

I ordered a genuine rear wiper (LR070691) on the internet that was supposed to fit model year 2015 or 2016 and up. Different sites say different years. It fits my 2016. My rear wiper blade has 2 tabs that you have to pinch.

The problem is that the one I got leaves streaks/smears. I think it's new old stock so old rubber.

I then ordered a Bosch A425H blade and hope that it will fit too and not have streaks. I'm hoping it's better quality and hopefully not be old stock. I will report back once I get it.

My car is a 2016 model year, but seems to fit rear wipers that are the same as 2017 and newer with pinching tabs.

The wiper service mode works for me: Press start button to power on, wait a second, power off, then hold down wiper stalk and power on again. Wipers move Never with foot on brake, you just want ignition, not start the engine. One thing I noticed about this mode is that after a while (maybe 10-15 minutes) the car seemed to decide to power off again and the wipers moved back to their normal positions! Not something I would want to happen while working on the rear wiper. So you can't take a very long time to do it.

EDIT: It just rained a lot and my new genuine rear wiper no longer smears. It was smearing a lot of dirt. I'm guessing it's acceptable if it only smears when the rear window is very dirty. So I will keep the genuine Land Rover rear wiper for now instead of changing it for a Bosch A425H. L405 2016 - Supercharged V6 petrol 380hp
