Well, driving to vote yesterday the range rover without any warning gave a clunk or jerk, lost power and the engine system failure showed on the dash, dumped the oil over the road, oil warning light came on so switched off quickly and stopped on the roadside.
Absolutely gutted and cannot put up with this car anymore, over the last two years I've changed egr valves, brakes and discs, replaced torque converter and reconditioned the gearbox, plus oil and filter changed every 6000 miles. Cannot bear to look at it anymore.

Car is gone, my dream of the range rover shattered, never again and got a cheap runaround Astra diesel.

That’s pants mate. I do wonder why we do the things we do. I ended up borrowing a few k to skip the 3.6, but I have had most of the known issues with the 4.4 TDV8. Would have been just my luck to have the same issue as you if I’d got one, despite folk saying most of them have no turbo issues....

I don’t earn much money but I like my cars. Sometimes I miss my Discovery 2 for the simplicity.

Spent 5k in two years on repairs, (only did 15,000 miles) not including servicing, engine, TC/gearbox, brakes then the engine blows.
Wasn't prepared to spend more then waiting for the next thing to go wrong.
