Before I put this on AutoTrader this weekend I though I would offer it here as it may be of interest.

Mechanically spoilt it has had the following in the last 10k miles:

New OE Front swivels
New Clutch
New Dual Mass flywheel
Full gearbox rebuild with a Ashcroft kit & input shaft.
Replacement transfer box with 9k on from a Puma being exported to the US. (So it does 70 on the motorway nicely)
New belts & pulleys
New Injector loom and rocker cover gaskets.
New ball joints.
New A-Frame ball joint.
Poly bushed trailing arms.
Koni Heavy Track dampers all round (Really helped with its road manners)
Genuine LR Mats & Rear load Mats.

It has two batteries and a split charge system, the main reason for which is it has a Webasto 5kw diesel heater fitted which runs from the AUX battery. There is a fuse box / distribution under the centre seat n a custom aluminium box.

Other spec:

Unmarked Safari Equip Galv & Powder coated side bars, I also have the original cills.
Genuine LR Steering Guard
HD Steering Bars
New Boost Alloys & Continental tyres or the original steel wheels.


For me its been a great car, I have been around Europe with it and used it locally as a dog car. It has been off road a couple of times a year and generally loved. Its up for sales because I now have a Daughter and its not exactly car seat friendly!

Its always been garaged by us, previous owner also garaged it and I have always cleaned it prior to putting it away.

It won't be the last Defender I own that's for sure.
