MY18 Rear Lights Connector Wiring

EDIT - Resolved!

Has anyone tried fitting MY18 rear lights to an MY16-17 L405?

I’ve re-pinned the new lights per the Powerfuluk guide but the lights remain completely dead - Powerful does suggest the re-pinning for 2016-17 models may differ to 2013-15 but there’s no further info.

Also tried with the original wiring (i.e. an MY18 rear light wired as it comes) but still no success.

Heres a photo of the connector plug on the lights I’ve removed - can anyone help by checking the wiring on a 13-15 connector plug - assuming the colours haven’t changed I wonder if they moved things around on the 16-17 and then again on the MY18 onwards (although all the wires are black on these units which doesn’t help!)

Alternatively, does anyone know which wire colour relates to which function?

Thanks Thumbs Up
Jon

Thanks Stan, yes I followed the Powerfuluk re-pin chart you’ve posted above and I’d guess the adaptor looms achieve the same result, but the lights show no signs of life whatsoever, tried the indicators, fog, brake etc but nothing.

I’m also using brand new genuine MY18 light units so I’d hope these aren’t the issue.

I reckon the MY16-17 lights are wired differently, although yours is a MY16? so perhaps that’s a red herring.

Ideally I need a MY16 wiring diagram which shows the wire colours / functions.

mines a 16my Jon, and it was a straight swap [with adaptors]...

one thing i would do is to re-fit the old lights and make sure all is well then start again.. ... - .- -.

Ok, confession time - problem solved, it was simply that I’d not clicked the electrical connector fully home...

Feeling sheepish!

I went for the SV version as I think they suit the dark exterior paint colours - there’s an eBay seller advertising sets for £675, he accepted an offer of £620 collected (brand new & genuine LR).

i considered the SV type but i prefer the normal ones, not that it makes much difference when they are on..

Stan, checked today and the rear lights do not come on with just the front DRL’s on (light switch in the off position).

I’d prefer if they did - is there a setting somewhere to do this?
