I have looked at some reviews for accelera tyres since I contacted the company and to be honest I can’t find any bad reviews. Apparently they’re something to do with hankook? I guess like said your not going to track daying a Range Rover.

It works out £112.50 a tyre if I go with the accelera’s and they will be 285/40/22 not the standard 275. If I go the continental route 285/40/22’s are well over double that price per corner.

I bought a P38 back in the day. The dealer had put 4 brand new Accelera tyres on it. I was non the wiser about tyres in those days and covered 20k miles on them without issue. I seem to remember the tread pattern was exactly the same as the equivalent Michelin at the time. They were very quiet compared to the D2 I’d been using previously.

They were only 18’ so don’t know if that made a big difference.

Another thought - are they 100% genuine JLR wheels & not copies ?

Had a set of Accelera fitted to wife’s car - they started to perish prematurely after only 2 years - we swopped them out for a full set of Generals - got sick of the slow punctures.

There is also a shortage of stock for the Continentals at the moment - many are advertising what they don’t have and I had to source through a dealer who sourced them through a tyre broker. As they are in short supply it also seems it has pushed the prices up - 285/40/22 Silent with the foam were £295 each fitted and balanced.

That was the best deal I could get, without messing around having tyres delivered and fitted by a 3rd party which has its own risks and is a total pain in the backside logistically if you are buying a full set - plus if one arrives damaged or the fitter ruins / damages one and only finds a split when fitting - which does happen - I had this on a large 38” tractor tyre that cost nearly £1k 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Be careful with copies - it's hard to gauge the quality and many suffer from cracking.

Branded ones like Hawke & Overfinch seem to be OK as they have their own standards similar to JLR - but cheap chinese eBay ones are questionable.

Also - check your insurance - mine were OK with JLR wheels as I explained that they were an optional extra on the original car - they still charged me an additional premium. Not sure they would have accepted third party, but you should check.

I would rather go for original wheels to be honest. I have had copies on a Range Rover before and they was ok. But only because the car didn’t get used daily. Every now and then a set of original turbines come up for the right price. Otherwise people are asking over 2k. I think the fact I’m considering copies is because I haven’t got the patience to wait now I’ve decided I want to get 22’s.
