HVAC module needs replacing?

1 year ago the FSR shorted. Dealer replaced. A few months later, nothing from the blower motor through the front. Rear working fine. Dealer reset HVAC module and fan working again. 1 month ago fan stopped through front again. Dealer reset and suggested if it failed again a new HVAC module would be needed. It might fix the problem, but with no 100% guarantee. Last week it stopped working again.
Now on a couple of occasions after it stopped working, it somehow decided to restart itself after 30 minutes of driving, like this morning.
I am reluctant to pay 1k pounds for a new module that might not fix the problem.
Any thoughts gratefully received.
