Diagnostic tool

Hi , I've been told there is a blue tooth diagnostic tool that connects to an app on a phone , I mainly need it to clear faults on a 2003 l322 , suspension inactive keeps occurring but mechanic can't find out why . Anyone have any info on these ?
Thanks

If you can find someone local and willing on the forum they can add your VIN to their GAP IIDToolBT for less than £100 to give full functionality, but to just read and clear codes then any GAPIIDToolBT should work already.

BTW have you tried the steering wheel turned lock to lock (with engine running), this sometimes bizarrely clears the suspension fault (kind of a domino effect of errors I believe)?

You may eventually find the fault is one or more ride height sensors, these are Hall Effect devices that do eventually wear out and give zro or "implausible" values to the ECU hence the error message- a (relatively) cheap fix that can be done without removing the front wheels, though again you will need some form of suitable diagnostic tool once the parts are replaced.

icarsoft LR V 2.0 is around £130 and will read EAS codes ,clear them and provide live data.
Not sure what the GAP tool does over this, anyone know ?

That would be good to know. I have read on here that the gap can customise certain features but some don’t wish to do that and just want a decent fault finder for a more reasonable cost. So from a diagnosis side the difference would be good to know

I have the earlier iCarSoft as well as an IID BT from Gap. In terms of capability the IID can also calibrate suspension heights (I know my iCarSoft can't do this, the V2 may be able to) and modify the CCF, flash modules etc. It is also a heck of a lot easier to use - they've put an enormous amount of effort into usability and it is a pleasure to use.

Having said that, the iCarSoft is an excellent tool it's just a bit fiddly, slow and awkward to use compared to the IID. I'm sure the V2 is better and if all you want to do it read / clear codes then it's well worth the money.

There are some on eBay - they make a good 2nd hand buy. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

I bought the Autel AP200 in order to have a reader permanently in the L322, with full live data onto my Android tablet.

Certainly it seems to check every module etc inc bulbs, and even the CD/Radio player

I don't know if it can calibrate/change suspension heights as I have no reason to try this out, have Wurth, ICarsoft etc available if required.

However; I will fire up the Autel and look at what is on offer for the suspension.

best Rich
