Scotland 2017 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Loire Blue

I had a puncture on a front tyre many years ago, Porsche dealership told me I would need to change all 4 tyres, some blox about all the tyres having to have the same “N” rating. There were Continental tyres and they’d said they couldn’t get my particular rating.
Funnily enough, I didn’t change all 4.

So many other tales I could recount about them dealing with folks with bottomless pockets. Censored

Nice colour Thumbs Up

Porsche dealers must use the same training school as LR. I was advised at a D4 service it needed the lower front arms changing. It was 2 years old and had covered 12k miles Shocked

I naturally declined their kind offer and 3 years and 2 MOTs later was still running fine on the originals Whistle

I guess they work on the principle that if 20% fall for it, it’s not a bad earner.

in some ways you’re lucky to have the ceramic brakes, they love to spin you a yarn about the discs rusting from the inside out and replacing the pads at 50% wear, “for safety reasons”. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Funny that, I would have preferred the steels, this had just had them all replaced, meant to last the life of the car.. aye right.

Looked into costs for replacement out of curiosity, price of a new focus was pretty close, however I’ve found a company in Germany that refinishes them for around £1k each Shocked Shocked bargain. Sadly euro car parts doesn’t stock rhem Mr. Green Rolling with laughter

Looks like a license-losing, marriage-wrecking kind of beast.

Friend of mine made a bit of a killing in a property deal some 15 years ago and decided to treat himself to a Ferrari, it was due a service in 6000 miles and the carbon brakes would have needed doing , an indie quoted him something like 10k ( roughly , ling time ago ) plus so he bought himself a corvette which he has to this day and costs very very little to run save for the fuel. 2015 4.4 AB

SWMBO had a recall done on her 2003 Cayenne. it has General grabber A/T on it as it does get used in anger, they refused to take it for a road test as it had the wrong speed rated tyres on, they are rated at H 130MPH, how fast were they going to go on the road test? They very nicely quoted to put the correct tyres on, which was declined.

I’m surprised they didn’t offer to sell you a set of wheels for the new tyres too.

They just love those kind of situations. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I thought speed rating also reflects the overall performance of the tyre - its ability to handle torque, cornering & more importantly braking forces - and that's why insurance companies can be funny about lower than manufacturers spec tyres.
