alternative to OEM positive battery cable?

The positive battery cable for my 2010 Range Rover has a good amount of corrosion and needs to be replaced. The part number is LR032024 (it supersedes LR012377, LR021868, LR023358). I can't find it at a decent price anywhere online, new or used (the cheapest is $430... yikes!). However, I did find a couple very similar to it on eBay, but it appears it's meant for the 2006 to 2009 European versions of the vehicle as the part numbers are and YMS500330 and YMS500340. Visually they appear to be the same, but just have different part numbers.

Can anyone confirm these are basically the same and will work on my 2010 US version vehicle? Maybe there's a aftermarket version of this cable? Or is there a way to refurbish/recondition this cable to make it function near stock as possible?

From your picture I'm not sure whether that is purely surface corrosion or whether some of the copper conductors are broken.
Initially I'd be inclined to disconnect the cable and wire brush the corroded area and see what's left.
It may look a lot worse than it really is.
I assume your car is still starting ok.

Not sure over there, but here in Oz I would find a auto electrician that specialises in trucks and machinery; and have one made. These guys have the cables etc and are always making custom parts , because of the variety of cables types and lengths needed by the types of vehicles they work on. As owners can't wait for genuine parts, downtime is a killer !

Yes, the car starts. It's just that I've been having electrical issues since I got the car 4 years ago. The dealership has made several attempts at troubleshooting, but it obviously didn't work.

I think Laurie915 is on to something - I should of been going to an auto electrician and not a mechanic.

But in the meantime, I'd like to know if I can use this non-US part in my US vehicle. I want to try to fix it myself before giving up and going to an auto electrician.
