Cheers Stan
But I thought that there was a hard reset procedure, clears the engine ecu.
If I remember correctly, you have to touch the + & - connections together, but not sure of the correct method.
Can anyone.help

If you'Google' hard reset there is lots of info there but are all on websites other than Fullfat so I cannot recommend any but the first one recommended disconnecting both battery leads and touching the leads together for 10 seconds before leaving 10 minutes before reconnection.Do your own homework before trying am not sure what it is supposed to do ,anyone elaborate ?

Does depend what you are trying to reset, e.g. no form of battery disconnect will reset a hard fault on the EAS, you need a diagnostic tool for that Thumbs Up .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

I think what SFM is getting at is that the Hard Reset procedure mentioned on many posts is nowhere near as convoluted as the suggested wiki post item highlighted by Stan.

I was wondering about this myself, for example does the wiki procedure just apply to 2010 and later cars etc or can we still just connect the cables (obviously once clear of the battery terminals!) without disconnecting all the gubbins as stated on the wiki?

I'm not convinced i'm making myself clear here lol.
