Remote locking

Went out to the FFRR this morning, won't open with the fob. Use the key and the alarm goes off. Drive to M.I.L for the obligitory visit and all is now well. Get home and the car won't lock again. Drive it 200 yds up the street and it works fine again.
I remember a thread about interference, is there any way to sort it out? Ian

Could be the key battery? Worth changing as a first thought?

Also if you're sitting on your key in your pocket after you've pressed it a few times it will loose its "rolling code" and will need to go in the ignition before it'll work again (which sounds more like what you've experienced?)

Thanks Dan for the tips, sadly no success...

Its one of the auto charging fobs. The key has been on the hook, or just getting out of the car. The spare is the same.
I think it may be interference from something locally. However its been fine for 4 months until this morning. If i change location it again works ok.......... Big Cry Ian

**UPDATE**

Appears that all cars are affected near to my home, neighbours etc. Perhaps we're gonna start glowing soon? Ian

The old P38's suffered terribly with this if there was a sensor nearby for gates/doors etc... Does say something if it starts with no trouble just up the road..! Ash

car remotes work around the 433mhz frequency, if there is a ham radio operator or a water board repeater station etc near you then they could interfere with the signal.. ... - .- -.
