4.2 owners with lpg quick question?

Hi all,

My conversion was done a while ago but mainly my fault I’ve not been able to get it 100% done.

Basically they tried to use an emulator to simulate the fuel pressure which didn’t work so as a temporary fix they left one cylinder on petrol and it runs fine, however just wondered what you guys have - an emulator that works(if so which?) or a fuel return?

Cheers Current stable:
2006 BMW M6
2007 4.2 V8 S/C FF
Gone:
2002 4.4 V8 FF

Must have a fuel return.
If your installer wanted to emulate the fuel pressure be wary about the quality of the rest of the conversion.

The fuel return is what they want it back for - but out of curiosity why is an emulator bad? is it a pressure in tank issue? Current stable:

Your fuel pressure is just one of the parameters that gets fed to the ecu to determine injection timing if its wrong by a considerable amount, it will be without a fuel return fitted, your engine will not run properly and you will end up running rich or lean or just end up chasing your tail to resolve, you MUST have a fuel return fitted with an in line orifice to replicate how the fuel pressure would be if running on petrol.

Change your installer as he should know all of this.

My advice don't do the conversion, mine eat itself to death, the vale seats are just too soft even with flash lube after 60k on gas one dead engine.

What did you do with it lighthouse? As far as I was aware when the valve seats go it just makes it had to start and run rough until you to temperature where it then stabilises?

There are a fair few people with 100k plus on them so maybe it was down to the conversion? Current stable:

As described is how it is when it starts to happens, as they then wear more the start to leave gaps all the time get air into the cyclinders and causes misfires and then it gets to the point where the compression is so low the car is useless.
