Ok not strictly speaking mine, it’s my daughters. We bought it when she was still 16 and I’ve been teaching her to drive in it.

It was her choice over a new Abarth 595 or Mini Cooper or Audi S1. Great taste in my opinion 💪😂

Oh very nice. The rally was special.

Yes it is in good condition. We bought it on condition. And be doing it up together. Great fun. Just need to rewire the stereo and it’s all good to go.

Blimey, it’s twice her age! Definitely an interesting choice, how does she manage for insurance?

LOL Yes it’s older than my wife’s first car 😂

She manages insurance very well; Dad, please. And I go ok then 😬😍

It’s nice to be able to help them get their independence.

Brilliant car. I had one as a company car and loved it. Hated the MkIII replacement I was given and chopped out of company cars after a year with it, since when it’s been Solihull products all the way!

Had an oak green f plate 16v, still pine for it, but transmission sheared at the crown wheel, had to get a loan to fix it, then forced to sell, prices are climbing now. Well played, proper driving experience, get the back wheel off the ground, first time I did that , sh@t myself. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Mr. Green Whistle

As you say, proper driving experience.

I absolutely love driving that car. You feel so connected to everything. The throttle , the power assisted steering, the lightness, heck even the “poor” brakes.

And it makes everyone smile, you and old. Well not that young my youngest daughter thinks it’s an old banger 🤣 but she is not into cars at all beyond a good quality sound system for her own music.

That’s the thing , no denying modern cars are great , but the sense of connectedness is just not there anymore . Censored I’m away to eBay ..

We had a mk2 valver 3 door. Loved that car the #1 Son arrived and he was a big lad. Couldn’t put up with the back breaking of lifting him in/out so with a heavy heart we got rid. I still blame him today 25 years later. I get dismissed with a roll of the eyes. visiting from www.rrsport.co.uk

its a classic in my view and your daughter has great taste. Mines coming up learning soon and want a pickup truck = no taste.

Apparently she going to sleep in the open bed with her mates, but i reminded her we live in the UK.

Nice classic car & well worth keeping in good condition.

Insurance companies are well aware of the old policyholder/young principle driver ploy.

My wife & I never fell into that grey area, certainly we helped the kids with buying their first cars but went on the principle that the sooner they started building up their NCB the better & it paid off after a few years. 2003 Range Rover Vogue TD6

Totally agreed. It will go in her name the insurance and as the main driver. The sooner she builds up NCB the better the premiums will become.
