L405 CCF editing via IID

Two part post: to document my experience and ask for more

My experience of the GAP IID tool
Bought myself an IID tool to enable the trailer bits and pieces.
Kept getting an error: "Reading CCF wBackup; Operation Failed E 1” when reading the CCF file. Sad Everything else was fine.
Patrick from GAP gave some advice, managed to dismantle the OBD connector and prise the connector back to get a better connection.
Still no joy. Confused

We'd overlooked a simple thing: check the firmware was correct!
Upgraded the firmware and as if by magic it all works.
So, experience is:

    1. upgrade the IID tool's firmware, especially if you're getting connectivity issues
    2. the support from GAP (Patrick) is fantastic
    3. my trailer stuff now work Smile

My ask for more
Now that I've played about the the tool, is there a list of CCF edits that work with the L405?
I've searched a number of places, find lots around the older cars, but not much around the L405.
I understand that much will not have been implemented by LR, but curious as to what *does* work.
So, what does work? Anyone know? Anyone point me to a documents or another forum?

Cheers,
Paul L405SC just arrived... still working everything out!

I can’t really help to a great extent. But what I do know is you can add loads if you know what you’re doing. I’ve been doing lots of research on upgrading a 380w meridian system to a 825w. It’s basically all interchangeable but to get the surround sound to play from the extra speakers the ccf has to be tweaked. This can be done and will change the screen from the standard bass @ treble only setting to the meridian surround. Along the way I’ve come across threads where owners have added timed climate & various updates etc. If you search stuff like this don’t bother searching for L405. We seem to be boring old sods that don’t modify our ff’s. Search for L494. Those boys love a mod and have pretty much done everything years ago. Also it’s worth searching some of the jag forums.

Thumbs Up I’m always having a gander at the L494 posts now. Just last night a fella fitted the climate control dash panel from a 2016 on to his 2015 because the 16 has the heated seat buttons built into it to save fumbling and waiting for the screen to sort itself out. This is something I wouldn’t mind doing as I find the sometimes slow boot up of the screen very annoying when I want my heated seats on and want to get it done before I pull away.
