L322 2008 key

Hi

I've only got one key for my 2008 L322 and it's looking pretty tired. I'd like a new replacement but I'm not keen on dealer prices.

On my old Discovery 3, I bought a key online for about £40, had it cut professionally, then programmed it with my IID.

Anyone done this with the L322? Where did you get the key?

Tbh - I had the same situation - I bought a new casing from eBay split the old one and soldered a new battery in while I was at it (not necessary if no battery problems) and just swapped the guts over took about 10mins max.

If you want a key there is a closer they bang on about on range rovers.net about £100 from Ali express about £130 from UK eBay blank keys are £10-15 so you just need blades cutting... I think by the time you have it you would break even but if you wanted to do a couple then sell it all on you’d be quids in. It looked very simple to use when you had sourced the blanks put old one in it reads new one in it writes Current stable:

Hmmm. That's still not that cheap.

The RR key looks identical to the old D3 key but I'm not sure if it is.

I have the same problem. I only have one key. Any advice on supplier of a complete key would be appreciated. ______________________________

I tried one from FFRR site vendor. Didn’t work. I could get it to unlock the doors but nothing else. ______________________________

I used to do them -- but passed on the business.

2008 not programmable with IID

It's the barrel locking chip that will catch you out

Hi Dan,

The information on that thread is correct CN900mini will read and then write chips -- CN3 are the type of chip required.

Bushy - my query is - as it reads one chip then clones it does the car see it as the same key or can you set different seat positions etc? Current stable:

Sorry Dan, I hadn't realised I missed a question !

The chip in question doesn't define the key in that way -- if you think about it, it's when you press the unlock button on the remote, programming that function is different and nothing to do with the CN3 chip Wink Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8
