B.B. has been laid up in my garage now for just over a week.
I have connected my CTEK , just as I do when I go on holiday, but as it looks more and more likely that the current restrictions are with us for some time I am wondering what else I should do ???

My original intention was to take it out for half an hour run each week, but this is not likely to happen now I am in lockdown myself,
I don’t like the idea of just starting it up and driving it in and out of the garage onto my drive.

Any thoughts/ ideas ?

The more I think about it, the more I'm regretting renewing my road tax this morning... probably should have gone SORN for the next month, but hey, I'm an optimist

Other than the battery, there's nothing else I'd do for a month or two.

started mine up and ran it for around 10-15 minutes and put it in access mode ..

think of it being parked for 2-3 weeks in an airport carpark for instance Mike... ... - .- -.

I’ve done the same...in my workshop....CTEK on it..... hoped to do a drive now and then, but doesn’t seem we can. Short trip to shops is all.....

Thought about just starting it but didn’t want to cause any other issues if it’s not run up to temp etc....

I washed and polished B.B. to use for my daughters wedding last year.
It looked so good I did it again last week before putting it in the garage, just hoping I get to enjoy using it again soon.
Hopefully not for a funeral.

Mines in access mode, EPB off and will top battery up weekly via towing electrics. Don’t intend starting it due to DPF etc.
Luckily, can walk to shops etc and now wfh.

Whats the benefit of access mode for long-term parking like we're all doing? (Mine's been on the CTEK for the last week, and will be for the foreseeable) 09 RR Westminster 3.6TDV8 - Stornoway Grey / Black interior - now gone (sad face)

Nearest neighbour a good 1/4 mile away.

Went out to move my car so my wife could get hers out, and of course it wouldn't start, probably my fault I've been working on it installing a dash cam playing with various bits of trim and listening to music while I work so its not been driven for a couple of weeks.
Out with the handheld battery pack and it started first time (best £37 I've spent recently) as soon as it stops raining out with the CTEK to be laid up for the next few months. I have also got into the habit of leaving the bonnet on the safety catch so I can always open it. Range Rover 4.2 Supercharged 2006

Same here but connect it up once a week for a few hours to get to stage "7" on the MXS10 lights and then disconnect....otherwise it's a trip hazard for us

Confused, nothing new there then, I've only just discovered I have two batteries !

I have the plug thingy from the site to connect to the towing electrics (I have them courtesy of deployable tow bar) and I have a C-Tek do I just connect and not worry?

I can't see the car moving for a while and given SWMBO has a car I might as well SORN it and mothball. Although she wouldn't take me to hospital the day I hurt my knee (could't drive) because it was snowing - she doesn't drive in snow - so I had to go the day after to pick up some crutches. Geoff

Guys just a quick note to remember...

If you wash your car? You will get rusty brakes and if you just park the car, your brakes will rust more & more the longer its parked! Then you run the risk of your pads/handbrake shoes rusting to your discs and when you next move the car you risk a hole load of damage!!!

So, if you wash your wheels you really need to drive the car to clean/dry off the brake surfaces...

Or, simply... Don't wash it if you can't drive it!!!
