Front Pads 4.4SDV8

Just having a search about for some replacement front pads for the AB. The aren't urgent, but will want doing in the next 6 months. along with the discs.

I have found some LR discs for reasonable price so that's fine. however scratching around for pads. I believe they are the same pads as on the 322 4.4 TDV8, and I put Jurid ones on last time. They were fine. but I can't seem to find any now. There are Delphi and Brembo ones on most sites for about £45, so I'm thinking Delphi which as far as I know are OEM anyway.

Has anyone fitted them?
Are they decent?

I have found some Jurid Ceramic ones on autodoc, supposed to be low dust. Not convinced......but they are a similar price to the non low dust ones which are in turn about twice the price of the Delphi ones..... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Go EBC Mark Thumbs Up

I went for the Greenstuff, big reduction in dust, excellent stopping power.
They claim 30% better stopping.

A bit extra but well worth it I think.

. Cheers, Greg

will have a look. tbh the brakes in the 405 seem to have way more bite than the 322, which is weird as they are the same setup. Looking at the discs and pads I reckon its on its second set of pads and original discs. Deffo going LR on the discs, they are probably Delphi, but no way of knowing for sure.

Looking at the EBC site the Greenstuff pads are about £160.

Just checked the price from my supplier.

Any more than £115 would be a little cheeky Wink

Oddly, the Yellowstuff pads are the same price. Usually, the Yellow pads are more expensive

Yellow stuff used to be track use but the latest compound is equal to the green stuff in initial bite when cold and much better with some heat in them. I had yellow stuff on the front on my 2011 4.4 TDV8 and greenstuff on the back ( couldnt get yellowstuff at the time )with EBC discs all round and found them excellent with zero fade and alot less dust. I havent had to change the pads or discs on my L405 but will probably go the same route when the time comes.to change. Just my pennies worth, I'm sure there are plenty of other opinions Thumbs Up 2015 4.4 AB

Yellowstuff are marketed as high friction and high heat capacity, but
are (were a while ago at least) heavy dust

150 plus for the yellow stuff.

Mikey. what do you reckon to the EBC discs, I’ve never been much for fitting aftermarket discs. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Got Britpart drilled and grooved on my D3 currently

Like you, was never a fan, but this build was to be something special, so they got fitted front and rear. And I actually cannot fault them Thumbs Up

And if you want yellows at £115, drop me a PM Thumbs Up
