What is this cable and connector ?

I was checking the battery in the boot and found this cable and connector. It is to the right of the battery as you look from the rear of the car. It is not plugged into anything. Does it look like an original build time specification or an after market addition?

I did have a new battery fitted 15 months ago by LR Assist. Did they forget to reattach the connector?

It's for the 'transit relay'- stops the battery going flat between initial build and delivery to the dealer. Removed as part of PDI and the loose connector just tucked away. Same can be found on all Jaguars too.

So can this be used as a charging point?

Absolutely no idea if it can be used as a charging point, but would doubt it.

It is supposed to tuck into a little pocket in the polystyrene round the compressor. Just to the right of the compressor there should be a small hole in the top of the poly which looks the right size for the plug. It goes in there.πŸ‘πŸ» There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Time to get the spare wheel out again then and put the connector in its proper home rather than just leaving it dangle. You can't swim uphill in custard all the time, sometimes you just have to go with the flow.
