Steering Issue

Hi, I'm just after some advice on a steering problem. I have looked through the forum, however i cant find anything which relates to this specific problem.

I have 2013 (63) V6 (AB) had it 3 years with no issues at all. (just 51000 miles) when turning the wheels left and right, it has developed a loud cracking noise. it steers fine, no issues on the road at all.

When manoeuvring, turning left or right, noise appears. When parked, if i got to full left lock, it makes the cracking noise just prior to being at full lock, it's the same on full right lock.

Has anyone experienced similar? It always goes to LR main agent for service.

Any advice would be appreciated. As a key worker it is in daily use, and becoming a concern.

Had the steering issue diagnosed at LR main dealer - requires new steering rack at a cost of just over £3000.00

Had 4 L322 without any issues. Only ever cost service and tyres.

ok so if they OE then that knocks my theory of after market wheels causing the problem.. ... - .- -.

The only possible explanation is a pothole incident earlier this year. It was fine prior to that. Then developed cracking/straining noise which has got progressively worse. ------------------------------------------

smacking into a pothole could have damaged a wheel or some suspension part.. ... - .- -.

That's good advice thanks, I'm going to do just that, wheel has been checked by KWF no issues, had to have new tyre - which ended up being 4 new tyres while i was at it. Big Cry ------------------------------------------
