I am a huge fan of the P400e. It is simply superb in all traffic conditions; loads of poke both from standstill and on kick down. 15+ serene miles on EV in winter. I would not swap it for anything.

I’ve only got 900 miles on the clock of mine so to be honest I cannot comment on that. I have an Alps trip planned for July, but not sure if I’ll be let into Switzerland. Or back into the UK afterwards!

EV range is fine for pottering around town and charging daily. Beyond that, then look elsewhere. For me, I like having the option to go EV and when I am on petrol really enjoying the performance and characteristics of the drive train. I did not buy the P400e for economy reasons. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Out of interest what sort of mpg do you get once the electricity has run out?

All time, I have a calculated efficiency of 28.8 mpg (I am not sure what the car says, but I will look later). In 2020 calendar year, this has crept up to 36.6 mpg year-to-date, I think as I have now got a more convenient charging solution at home and have gotten into a rhythm.

Without EV running, and driving in town, I usually get less than 20 mpg, maybe 20 to 25 mpg on a run, but I have not properly tested this. It's also not easy to resist planting the throttle.

I turn start/stop off on a regular basis to run the engine in, keep things moving under the hood, especially as I cannot get any long trips in. If I drove daily I expect my mpg would improve considerably as I would run on fully EV more often.

Read the gory details here - note, a few trips are not recorded due to Land Rover inControl blips related to ending/starting trips from an underground car park:

So if you can maximise electric range the economy is better than a diesel.

Petrol alone those figures suggest better mpg on short journeys than a 5.0 and similar on a run. And reviews suggest it’s quite lively.

My biggest concern would be owning one out of manufacturers warranty. All that new technology must have them scratching their heads at main dealers Whistle

I used the car mostly for my daily commute to work (about 20-25km) the first year. I haven't put petrol in it since I bought it and barely used 10% of the tank. But, as ilard said, it's not about the economy, it's the confort, the silence, the kick you get when accelerating, that make this car awesome! That being said, extended warranty should be purchased for ANY Range Rover! Also, the battery carries an 8 year warranty. 2019 Vogue P400e
