United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Causeway Grey

The exterior styling (minus the huge flared arches and suicide doors) could very well be real as it would carry on the theme from the new Defender.

Having looked at it again, some of the renderings are pretty poor, so I take it back about it not being fake.

I believe you were right the first time and that it is authentic, but not the final asset. Looks like a quick render during the production process of the final hires video asset that will be used for the launch.

Like you suggested above this video seems to be showcasing what is often referred to as a teaser concept car. This is typically based on the production car but features typical concept car elements to make it a better and more exciting asset for the media to shoot.

No mirrors, door handles (doors are usually remote controlled by someone on the motorshow stand for these cars) pillarless suicide doors (that look cool and make it easier for press to take pictures of the interior), full electric powertrain marked by that glass-like grille, glass center console - all the typical ingredients are there. In a different industry now but spent 15+ years in auto so somewhat of a geek Mr. Green

I compared the exterior shape with the spy photos from the winter test drive that circulated earlier this spring and it looks very close too me. The wheel houses will be a bit less "pumped" on the production car but more definition than the 405.

Have to correct myself - It's a project by a design grad.

https://www.shijieyudesign.com/landrover-range-rovernouvel

Saw the name in the end and googled it.

Still, I wouldn't be surprised if the new RR is similar to this student's work. Vent seems to get more narrow, the wedge along the car seems to be there in the prototype too, the prototype had Velar like door handles etc

Word on the street:

September 2021 introduction, with early 2022 in customer's hands.
Corona delayed a September 2020 introduction and early 2021 availability.

Any thoughts on the above? RR's that are part of my car timeline since I bought my first RR Classic in 1999:

As far as I heard it is still on for a reveal later this year with customer cars next year as a MY22.

They have said that they will delay the XJ replacement though.

There is a lot of new product out from the competition and L405 and Sport are getting a little long in the tooth now to maintain sales without an update (especially Sport).

If they do delay the RR as well as the XJ I would be worried that the next step will be JLR up for sale. It smells at lot of all not being well.

I’m so glad I got the job done at the end of last year. If I had my heart set on next gen then I think I would burst at the thought of 2022 delivery. I’ll be even more delighted if Land Rover put the prices up an insane amount. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

I bet you are right and maybe the Chinese will buy it.....

JLR already have a soft (Conditions) chinese loan of £500m Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

He who dies with the most toys wins...

I like the high and pronounced hip line

Stacked tail lights; tick. Thumbs Up

And as the glasshouse contracts toward the tail, that high hipline becomes a real 'shoulder'

You can also see how slab sided it is. Also like that.

Don't like the messy lower door mouldings with those never-right cut outs to allow the doors to open fully.

It's possible some of these bumps are camouflage add ons under the dazzle wrap to throw the scent Cheers, Greg

A few detailed photos here:

Looks like some of the shoulder line is down to camouflage panelling.

Every surface has plastic cladding on it, so it is impossible to tell anything about the styling other than that the overall shape and dimensions are an evolution of the L405.

The fact that there is still so much cladding on it makes me think the reveal is now looking more like it will be delayed a year. If they were going to reveal in the autumn (as was the original plan) they would normally be giving a little more away by now.
