| Baltic Blue Member Since: 13 Aug 2015 Location: North Wales Posts: 3888      | The wiring to the sensors get very brittle and thus very easily broken, but I am not sure if a broken wire gives a permanent alarm or just stops the warning working when the pads wear down, sorry I can’t remember.

| Weegie Member Since: 09 Jun 2014 Location: East Sussex Posts: 3277      | As above.  They work on open circuit so if the wires are broken they don't show a fault but would not be working.  If both are broken and touch or they short to ground they will show a fault.

Hence once the warning light comes on the sensor is worn-out. Cutting off the sensor and joining the wires together stops the warning light occurring. | ||
