MOT minor defect - What part(s) need replacing?

Hi all, just had my 2019 L405 MOT'd and it passed with only a single minor defect;

'Suspension arm ball joint dust cover severely deteriorated offside front lower (cover splitting)'

What sort of job is this to replace? Is the dust cover a single part item or is it part of a unit?

Having ambitions that I might be able to replace this myself once I know what parts are affected and what it entails or should I leave this to the garage? Neutral

It’s part of the lower control arm. You’d normally replace both sides. I did mine after watching a couple of YouTube videos and buying some tools. You’ll need:
An industrial size ball joint splitter like this one
US PRO Hydraulic & Manual Ball... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07DGCSGKK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

A long breaker bar

A high torque torque wrench

Axle stands

A good Jack

Usually socket set etc 2017 (67) Vogue SE Corinthian Grey
