And yet another thumbs up for Cam-tech

Hi Very Happy

I purchased a 2012 Westminster TDV8 60K miles FDSH at the end of January this year but had no precious knowledge of RR's so went in a tad blind.

I bought it from a specialist supplier who, as part of their sale, MOT'd and serviced the car. On the way home the motorway drive"unnerved me" to say the least, but I put that down to 3 different brands of tyres (warning signal).

I had all 5 wheels fully refurbished and purchased a new set of Pirellis and had the tracking "done", which improved the ride, but it still felt a bit odd.

I am quite fastidious with my cars, so having read the wonderful reputation of Craig at Cam-Tech, I decided to take the plunge and have the car checked over by "someone who knows".

Booking in was super fast and efficient and a game plan suggested with a full health check to start and then a discussion about potential problems. I dropped the car off and waited with bated breath........

24 hrs later the email arrived..... bottom line was that the car was a cracker Thumbs Up but had had little love despite its full dealer history...... fuel filter dated 2012 and the air filter also appeared to have never been changed, well at least not in the last few years and Craig also advised that one rear damper was completely shot, the front brake pads needed replacement, the brake fluid was overfilled and the oil seemed unlikely to have been changed recently due to the poor viscosity.

We decided that once serviced and issues rectified then this would be a fab car, so, Full inspection 2 service, full software update, new pair of rear dampers, gearbox, transfer box, diff service performed along with brake fluid change and pads replaced and coolant drained and replaced and a full geometry set up.

A couple of days later I returned to pick up the car, Craig and Lorna are so charming and hospitable I felt as though I could have chatted all day, and Craig's love of cars is more than apparent, as is his attention to detail, there were another few jobs that I know I needed to do to my RR but Craig had already sorted them for me, he just couldn't let the car go without finishing it off. I was so so impressed.

Well the drive home was a revelation , so this is what an RR should feel like.....OMG

As you can tell I can't sing Craig and Lorna' praise high enough and I will always get my car serviced at Cam-Tech, in fact I shall return soon to get some deployable sidesteps fitted...anyone got any pics of those? Smile

Sorry for the waffle, but good service deserves praise in my book, oh and for the record have no affiliation with Craig

Cheers for now

It’s funny but the tyre brand mix is one of my main red flags when buying any car, especially if it’s at an auction.

When I first viewed my current L322, Sylvia, the first thing I noticed was that she had 4 almost new Pirelli Scorpion Zero’s fitted. As the car is a 2005 model this suggested to me that she had been looked after by her previous owner and since buying her she has been a cracker.

Agreed, its generally a red flag for me too, lack of care etc.

But one was replaced to pass the mot by dealer, the other was, I'm guessing, by the state of the spare wheel an emergency purchase but the rest of the car was in so much better condition that the others in its price range ....... maybe because it needed £1K's worth of tyres Rolling with laughter Current FF Westminster 4.4 V8

Thank you sir... Im very glad your happy with her now, that said, you couldn't not be after driving with that empty shock absorber compared with her now...
It also goes to show just how well these cars hide their faults! Proof if ever it were needed, how well the 322 was engineered! 👍
Craig Thumbs Up

That's the problem when the dealers have a "cheap" service option but they will still stamp the book...

Well done Craig..

Glad you love your new fatty... Pete
