L322 hi pitched bleeping noise / alarm

while I was in spain I left my FF at a mates and he said the alarm had been sounding , the boot lid was open so I thought it must be that but lately its happening more often , it doesn't sound like the alarm but more of a hi pitched beeping which appears to last for around 30 seconds
is it the alarm OR something else ?? Confused

Do all the indicators flash when the beeping is happening, if so it is the alarm.

Cause...where does one start:

1. Spider in the car
2. Bonnet sensor button fubared
3. Electrical gremlin

Solution unplug the sounder Wink .

Yes they do flash , so it must be the alarm and what a poxy thing it is !
What is odd is that after 10 hours parked at work it was fine yet at home since 7am it keeps going off , will have a snoop about but if all else fails will unplug the sounder . . . . Wherever that is
Cheers Joe

You could try disabling the interior sensor by pressing the key fob twice. At least that would eliminate that.

I presume that sensor is in the panel in the centre of the roof ?

must be pal as I disconnected it at 11am this morning and not had a peep out of him since , even with the sunroof open all day , need to see if there is anything wrong with the sensor though , not good to not have a fully operational alarm system

I think the diagnostic system makes a loud repetitive beeping sound. Not entirely sure what it means, but when i pulled the fuse for it, I heard such a beep.

Why not; Park car,

Open Bonnet

Fool the bonnet switch into thinking the bonnet is shut.

Lock car.

Disconnect battery

Close bonnet.

Leave alone until needed.

Unlock car with key, open bonnet, re attach battery etc etc etc.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

the above may be viable if I leave it parked up- for a few days butt for day to day its a bit of a faf , it still seems very random to me , parked outside for over an hour and the road as usual , similar amount of wagon's rumbling past etc but it never went off Confused

Sorry, was working on the idea you had left it at a mates while you were away. Thumbs Up

It’s not near your microwave is it.... and no I’m not taking the Censored . Our silver Hilux is so bad that it has to be parked one space over from my oppo’s kitchen window. Also will go off if the phone is left in the locked car.

Just an idea. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
