Disclock or similar

First of all, my apologies if this is in the wrong section, I wasn't sure if it should be in 'Technical' or this one....

Secondly, I have searched the forum but I can't find a specific answer to my question so again, apologies if I've missed it.

Now...the question! I there a disclock or similar on the market that's compatible with the multifunction heated steering wheels fitted to late model L322s and does it damage the wheel?

I ask because the lock my other half used on her Pug wrecked the steering wheel over about three years. New steering wheel, £25, 20 minutes to remove and refit.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the steering wheels for these loveley beasts are considerably more than £25 so I'd rather have a non-damaging visible theft deterrent if anyone knows of one.

I know I haven't bought one yet but when I do I'm planning on hanging on to it for quite a while!

TIA

I have a (large) DiskLock I always used on my Defender 110 TD5 SW given the lack of any decent security on those. It was in use on that vehicle every time it moved for 9 years, and no issues at all, if you're careful in fitting/removing it.

I have used it a couple of times on my 2011 L322 5.0.S/C without any issues, but whereas in the Defender it fitted nicely onto the floor in the middle row of seats, in the RR it didn't seem to lay there as well without potentially scratching something... So I must admit, I don't tend to use it in the RR regularly, and instead rely on the slightly better door locks, alarm system, and a CCTV system keeping watch on it!

I use a Disklock daily on our 2006 L322.
However, to avoid potential damage to the leather, 99% of the time I also fit the stretchy cover to the wheel first that you can also buy for a very inflated #10 cost.
So far, 2 years plus of use have created no marking of the wheel.

On our D2 I've also been using the same spec Disklock for 7 plus years without damage (also with stretchy cover).

There are thin protective pads inside all of the recent Disklocks that should help reduce damage. I'm assuming they were added for a reason !

PS Both of my Disklocks are Medium size, used on the middle fit setting so that its loose enough to make it impossible to steer with the Disklock on. Paul,

Thanks, guys. I think I'll invest in a fluffy stretchy cover and a Disklock.
