L322 logging wagon!

Done this twice today, as I bought a load of local Birch but had to collect in the woods myself.




This first trip was fine, but my next visit saw significantly more wood loading up the rear and the car sunk into the mud with tyres spinning..... Embarassed

No way was I going to admit defeat and start unloading all the wood, so I dropped the tyre pressures to about 15psi and went into super extended mode. Still no joy. Big Cry

Phoned SWMBO and got her to bring my old Takla Air Jack into the woods. Ten minutes later, I was back on the tarmac! Shame I didn't get a picture of that with the L322, but I was rather busy 'off roading' at the time.

However, for those who don't know what an air jack is......

What a handy bit of kit that is jmc. Seeing as it's portable wouldn't it be wise to keep it in the boot? That's gotta be better than the standard and sprinter bottle jack and much quicker I should imagine. May I ask what they cost?

That air jack looks a handy bit of kit it reminds me of the old inflatable wedges that would hook up to the chainsaw exhaust. Looks like you have quite a bit of Alder too. Making smoke chipings?

I have an air jack from my P38A days. I can’t see that I can use it on the L322 as it has two exhaust outlets. Does one need to block the second one? Ron B. VK2OTC

It has a large footprint when it's deflated and although it could stay in the boot, I don't think my pooch would be too happy about it..... Laughing

All birch in there. There is some Alder laying about, but it doesn't burn well unless it's properly seasoned, unlike Birch!

I placed it under the tow-bar in the middle of the car. Don't fancy jacking the L322 on any part of the exhaust! Wink The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

Ron, this is an air jack, see the compressor. I know where you are coming from, exhaust jack.
The Photo of the L322 full of wood is like my car whenever I go camping. 1st job after setup is to get out the chainsaw and secure plenty of wood 2007 TDV8 VSE

You're right though, if you are using the exhaust you have to buy a rubber and metal expanding bung that you have to stick in the other exhaust tailpipe - e.g.: https://disco4.com/forum/sale-twin-exhaust...69962.html FFRR SDV8 Autobiography
