Budget of £20k ish for a 4.4 TDV8. Edited for new budget

I have a wanted advert up for a 2010 - 2012 4.4 TDV8 FF with the only must have extra being cooled seats. Having searched long and hard for the right one, I am struggling either with price point or number of owners.

This got me thinking about pre-facelift vehicles as well....they seem to be readily available. Is that because a TD6 or V8 petrol are coming to the end of their life span now being close to 20 years old or is it just because people are ready to move on to a newer model?

Basically, am I restricting myself massively by holding out for a 4.4 TDV8 or is this really the pinnacle of diesel L322 ownership and therefore worth waiting for the right one to come along?

DrRob was kind enough to drive over and let me see his and I am now basing all viewings on his one. Maybe I'm being too pedantic.

Cheers
Ben

I set the bar high Laughing
Nothing wrong with a face lift 3.6 with the TFT screen. Make sure its non DPF and blank the EGR with a £35 kit.
Then get BAS to remap it and delete the EGR EML as part of a deal with an IID Bluetooth purchase from them. You then have lowered the risk of the turbos being mashed by failed EGRs and also have a power boost/more mpg with the remap.

Also fit silicone intercooler hoses as they are 3.6 weak point. BAS sell them too I think

Dorset Rob on here blanked his and it's made a difference already. 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
New Defender D300 90 on order so "Rory" will be going to a new home....!
1974 Series 3 Lightweight = "Millie"

If you are patient one will come along, and the 4.4 tdV8 is certainly worth waiting for.

If we ignore the engine advantages..... the 8 speed gearbox would be enough to make me wait for the right one.

I paid £13,000 for my 2011 4.4tdv8 Autobiography 9 months ago. I bought it unseen while on holiday abroad. The biggest risk I've ever taken!! But I've been lucky so far with no major drama's. So keep looking. Cheers Kev.

On AT, 2012 4.4TDV8's are starting at around £12k so I'd expect you to be able to pick one up for your budget.

There are plenty around so you should be able to find one with the exact spec you want. Cooled front seats are standard on 2012 AB's and Westie's.

Good luck Thumbs Up Thumbs Up 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

No adaptive cruise control on Westies? My SE has cooled front and rear seats.

And according to a lot of people, the car is worn out because it`s done over 100k miles

Mileage isn't a concern. Spec and goodies aren't too much of a concern - cooled seats are a must have but, but, I could forgo them for the right car and a lighter leather. Maybe. Having been in a car with them, I'd always wish I did have them......

I was trying to see whether I'd be missing anything out by discounting the 3.6 and even some earlier models.

I don't need any convincing that a 4.4TDV8 is the one to buy, I need convincing not to buy one haha!

Cheers for the advice chaps, much appreciated.

I was meaning that if he wants cooled seats, they are standard on the VSE. Not sure about Westminster.
