Mine does it occasionally, usually when on a steepish slope. My guess is the car detects movement which exceeds a set threshold or force on the gearbox. Ie it thinks the handbrake isn't doing its job properly. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Ditto on steep slopes. I wonder if it’s to make you use the footbrake as an extra precaution 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Ditto on our driveway in Poole, which is reasonably steep - happens to me maybe 20-30% of the time there when starting, but only ever had it there and nowhere else! |

I wonder if it's the brake fluid level, I believe it's the same light to warn you if it's low, on a steep hill maybe it's enough to put the low fluid light on..!! Pete
