Bottle Jack - Now sorted, thanks.

Apologies for this, I know it's been done pretty much to death but bear with me. As a newcomer to the world of the FFRR I have no idea how high a jack needs to lift the vehicle to get a wheel off the ground.

Would this one do it or would I need to carry a block of (thick) wood around too?:

It lifts to 413 mm.

Thanks,

Dunc. The life you have is the only one you'll get; make the most of it.

Is this for roadside wheel changes?
If yes, get a LR red “two horned” one. Works a treat and the horns add a level of stability. 2 pumps and wheel is clear of road to change wheel. Position under the lower arms, front or rear. Chock the diagonal one as usual Thumbs Up
Day 1, I threw the scissor jack (aka The Widow Maker) into the shed and chucked the red horned one under the boot floor Thumbs Up

For driveway and other more meaty jobs then a trolley jack is needed. I have an SGS one with a sill adaptor

I have a 2.5 tonne SGS trolley jack for my D2, that'll do for the Rangie too.

I just want a reasonably priced substitute jack to replace the infamous scissor jack.

Or a Mercedes sprinted jack modded with a cill adapter is what a lot use. There are threads on here on how to do it. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

No mods needed for red LR jack and you don’t have to fight the air suspension 👍 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
