Fault Codes on L405 19MY

Hi,

I've just had my windscreen replaced and as part of the process they recalibrate the camera for traffic signs, everything is fine with the car, no error messages and drives as well as usual but as part of the replacement, the windscreen company gave me a before and after read of the fault codes and I seem to have a lot of stored faults for a car that's not that old. Unfortunately, I don't have a GAP tool to read and clear them but do these sound normal? I know on the L322 it has some codes that are there and don't affect the car. The codes before and after are the same.

Engine/PCM Powertrain Control Module - Disturbed Function U0080
Airbag/RCM SRS ECU - Faulty or Missing Calibration U201A
AirCon/HVAC Electronic Climate Control ECU B1088
LIN-BUS B Faulty Communication B12C9
Steering Solenoid Valve Control A B13C2
Rain/Light/Solar Intensity/Anti Misting sensor unit - Signal of dew point sensor incorrect U2300
AirCon/RHVAC ECU Faulty U2300
Comfort/BCM B1DD1 and B1DD2
Comfort/HCM Headlamp Control Module Disturbed Function U0046
Comfort/GWM Central Gateway Module Disturbed Function against Battery Module, Power Dist Box, Relay Box B11DB, B1479, B1412
Transmission/TCCM Xfer Case Disturbed Function U0080
Transmission/RDCM Rear Axle Diff Lock ECU Disturbed Function U2300, U0001
Suspension/CHCM Chassis Control Module Disturbed Function U0046
Audio/Video/TCU Telematic Control Unit Interruption or Short in Electric Circuit B14A9, B14AA.

I've done a search on the forum but none of the trouble codes come up.

Back in January it came up with a Low Battery message even though the battery and alternator outputs were fine, LRA updated the Gateway module.

Don't know whether anyone on the forum or Craig has any thoughts about this.

Thanks

Mark

That's a lot of faults but being relistic it's very unlikely your car has any genuine faults at all . Is the battery the original and has the car been standing idle for long periods without being on a trickle charger such as a ctek ?

I would invest in a low cost scan tool or even go down the route of a Foxwell or Autel and clear the codes and I bet they never come back . Just a thought AGM type batteries don't seem to last as long as traditional lead acid types .

As above, you only need to try and start a RR with a low battery and all hell will be let loose in the form of a million fault codes... So, for the split second the car is trying to start with a low battery, all of those fault codes will be relevant... Once the car starts and charges, all of those codes will be a false indication of problems...

In an ideal world you would buy a relevant code reader, Clear them and move on! But I’m not sure that is so easy on a 2018 onwards FF sir Rolling Eyes

Thank you both for taking the time to reply.

With lockdown the car hasn't moved much, so this seems totally reasonable.

The only problem I have is my car is parked in a car park so I can't trickle charge the battery which is pain.

I read on the GAP site that functionality on MY18 is limited, is the GAP IID tool still the tool of choice for the later L405's, I've not heard of Autel or Foxwell before, I'll have a look.

Cheers

Hi Mark, I’ve just bought an Autel MD806 pro and it only covers up to 2016!

Hope that helps. Dave.

Thanks Dave , when you connect your autel to your wifi does it not offer updates ?

AnotherMutley : put the words "Foxwell range rover" into eBay or Amazon and you will find loads of sub £75 scanners that will clear the codes and turn of eml etc . They often don't have top end features such as putting the rear brakes into service mode but then they don't cost £1800 either , worth having in the car all the time ?

Hi Charlie, yes it does, but they’re only for up-to 2016 so far. It may well work for certain features on later models but I’ve not tried it so couldn’t say.
