Apologies if this is really obvious but when I purchased my car at 9 months old in Oct 2017 (ex LR management car at 10,000 miles) it was newly serviced but the service indicator wasn't reset. It then came on at 1yr old by which time it was only 3 months later and had only done another 4,000 miles.

To cut a long story short, I don't think the service indicator has ever been in sync with the actual services undertaken.

My last service was at 35,374 on 7th October 2019. It had a 48,000 mile service.

Today (28th July) it tells me that the service is due again (0 miles to go). No prior warning. The car has now done 46,640 miles.

I know that these cars are condition based servicing but I thought it was generally 16,000 miles or 12 months. My car does a mixture of London commuting and long motorway runs.

To add to the confusion I read on a LR website that diesel engines need to be serviced every 13,000km.

I really am confused. Can anyone shed some light please.
