Turbo Replacement

I have been quoted £6800 + vat to have both turbos replaced on my 2013 L405 AB with 74,000mls. I have been assured by reputable garage they need done. Is this the usual cost to have this done. Price includes new sensors gaskets etc. This is with genuine replacement turbos .

I’d be asking more questions regarding the legitimacy of new Turbos at 74k miles - 250k maybe, but 74k absolutely no way - unless the vehicle has never had an oil change 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Light footed driving where system is rarely used will cause this. Engines need the old Italian tune up regularly. They really don’t like being treated gently. Having a good blast when properly warmed up and letting them cool down properly will keep turbos and associated equipment in a very good shape.

Having much the same car I would be interested as to what the symptoms were that caused the garage to recommend that BOTH turbos be replaced. Question Geoff

Perhaps driving in sport mode might push up the revs. Would that help? Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc
