Top Screen

Hi

Does anyone here have a MY 2019 or 2020? If so, are you experiencing any problems with the top screen?

Since buying my car new in 2018 (one of the first facelifts), I've had nothing but trouble with the software to the point now where the top screen takes anything up to 10 miles to come on and the dash only shows a picture of the car, nothing else apart from the dials!

The car has been with the dealer for the past 2 days and they are now calling in the tech guys, but I just wondered if the new cars are still getting problems. If they're not then I shall insist they put a new, latest version MCU in the car. It's already had one last year!! All LR cars from 1984

Mines an Oct 2018MY and not had a problem with the top screen. Sometimes slow to boot, but generally gets there before I drive off. Sounds like something fairly drastically wrong with yours if you sometimes have to wait 10 miles Shocked

Never used the ciggy sockets Stan.

Also the battery should be ok, they fitted a new one in Feb this year and not had any warnings of low battery since.

I'll wait for their report tomorrow and see what they say!

I’ve only had mine for 8 weeks, but it’s been fine, better than I expected after watching/reading reviews. It always starts up by the time I drive off and even when I move it on the drive the reversing camera comes on immediately so I don’t have to wait a few seconds. It’s got the latest software and mine is a MY2019. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

Been in the dealers for nearly a week and having heard nothing since wednesday I had to call at 5.30pm to get an update!!

I was told they are going to "check the wiring" on Monday!! (JLR "Tech team" told them to do it!) The mind boggles.

How do they get away with such criminal complacency??? Censored Censored

What's even worse, is that the dealer I bought the car from, has not been in touch once, not once, since I bought the car even though they know the problems these new Facelift cars have had with software. All LR cars from 1984

I’ve had issues with both screens sporadically not loading on my 18 plate revised shape FFRR 4.4 Vogue SE which has received a series of software updates which temporarily cures the problem until it goes awol again.
Doesn’t always occur just now and again. But, if you start the car using the incontrol remote, and then go to manual by pressing the brake pedal, the infotainment then loads ok. So, I always start the car remotely which is fine as weather has been so hot recently.
I suspect it’s associated with the amount of power the infotainment receives on starting from start up manually when all systems are go!

That's a helluva palaver on a £100k car Peanutbob!

LR should get the thing sorted, not rely on the customer to come up with solutions!!

I can't believe they are still selling 2020 cars with the same problem as I've got so, why on earth don't they just replace the software module in my car with a 2020 one Banging Head Banging Head Censored All LR cars from 1984

I had constant software issues like this in my Jag F Pace and that was one reason I got rid of it and came back to FFRRs. Current one doesn’t have the ICTpro system and It’s one thing which makes me less keen to upgrade as it seems the bugs and gremlins persist.

Unless the software has improved by next March I think I'll be moving to Volvo or Audi.

The FFRR is a beautiful car except the software but if you pay out the money we do then it should be spot on. 30 months of conatant niggles is not funny. All LR cars from 1984

@Chalky. - Which MD were you using? Dick Lovett and Melksham seem to be quite good. I have blackballed Bristol MD Evil or Very Mad

Hi

Cars back!! Will test it tomorrow and see what happens, hopefully all sorted.

Dolphin Boy, I wouldn't go to Bristol and wouldn't go to where I bought this car from again. DL seem pretty good, but all are left with pretty poor back-up from LR I think. No way would I be a MD for any car manufacturer, my B-in-L is in the car business and some of the stories he tells..... Whistle All LR cars from 1984
