I used to dive out of there 20 years ago. lovely place but full of grockles right now according to locals.
best get there early doors to find a parking spot.
Creek car park is right by the harbour slipway and only a few minutes from the town centre.
The Fortescue used to be a good place for a nose bag.
take credit cards as Salcombe, like Cowes is mainly an aspirational shopping centre these days

Park in car park out of town and walk in. It’s on the left opposite the Gulf petroleum station Thumbs Up
Or go early and park at North Sands and have some grub at the Winking Prawn. I have an alternative name for it Rolling with laughter
Personally I prefer Dartmouth. Less up it’s own Censored 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

If you go through Kingsbridge, see if the old pick up is parked near Jewson. Had a sign leave your scrap on here!
When I worked down there for one of our clients changing the gutters and other maintenance. It was very convenient for off loading the rusty gutters, rather than bringing it all the way back here.
Mind you the pick up was not far from scrap itself, think it was yellow.
Have a good time. Thumbs Up

Hello C-T-C

At the beach at South Milton (National Trust car park) there is a great beach hut for food. It gets booked up, but worth a try: www.beachhousedevon.com

In Kingsbridge, pretty much opposite the Jewson’s referred to is The Crab Shell Inn that does good pizzas and pub food.

In Salcombe, the Winking Prawn is good but you will be knee deep in a certain type of people. If you want something a bit quieter, 500 metres along at South Sands, the South Sands Hotel has a nice balcony with tables serving food. Albeit there is a big building project next door at the moment. In Salcombe itself, The Victoria Inn is good for food.

From South Sands, the walk up passed Overbecks national Trust house to Sharpe Torr is worth the effort. There’s a great view of the Salcombe Ria from there.

Also, if the new ferry is in service, it is a great trip by boat between Salcombe and Kingsbridge. Try Kingsbridgesalcombeferry.com

I hope you get some good weather and have a great trip.

Final advice - if you have a choice, don’t take your newest, shiniest FFRR, a lot of the South Hams lanes are titchy and you’ll probably end up having to squeeze into hedges a bit. 2004 L322 4.4 V8 Vogue Bonatti Grey

Take a raincoat!
As my Dad used to say when we went for a fortnight it only rained twice..
Once for 10 days and once for 4 days!

I have never seen the sun in Cornwall or Devon

Weather check... have fun

https://www.southsands.com/live-webcam/ Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

I've stopped there many times on the sailing yacht (and RIB) as we head down the West Country or across to Scilly. I've had a couple of great meals in the Salcombe Harbour Hotel, which has a wonderful setting overlooking the harbour mouth, and the Victoria Inn. We mostly eat onboard when cruising, so haven't tried too many local places!

As per previous comments, if you've never been there before Salcombe town itself is very touristy and packed with shops of a certain type. A lovely setting hough right on the harbour edge and worth a walk around, and personally we then enjoy walking out the town south past South Sands and along the coastal path.

The trip up the river to Kingsbridge is lovely as well, if any boats are offering socially distanced cruises. And depending on how far you want to drive, Dartmouth also a great visit and a bit less showy, and we love Newtoen Ferrers/Noss Mayo to the west.
