Rear Number / License Plate Lamp Holders - Upgrade

Hello all

I have managed to gain access to the rear number / license plate lamp holders as I want to upgrade from the tiny 'one' LED version to an aftermarket version. I ordered a set from fleaBay which are supposedly canbus error free but they don't work...surprise there! Has anyone upgraded their rear plate LED's and for what type please? Regards.
