Advice needed please

Hi all
My friend has a 2015 3litre L405, he has it serviced at main dealer every year.
It has only done 35k miles from new.
So, this year he has booked it in for the service, and been advised to have the Cam belt, and tensioners changed at the same time, fair enough, but he is being quoted €2500 for the work!
Does this sound reasonable to you guys, or should he go to an independent garage?

Steve

Hi Stan
Is that just for the cam belt and tensioners?
How much for the service?

Steve

Well…
This isn’t going well at all!
Car went in Thursday, they done the service etc. stripped cam belt and. Tensioners off, went to fit the new ones, and they don’t fit! Ordered from Land Rover France with the VIN number.
Turns out, that the engine was modified on the car that production year, so the tensioner pulley, has a 10mm mounting bolt, and the new kit supplied by Land Rover has an 8 mm mounting bolt.
Been on every website I can think of, in Uk and France, no one has any in stock, and cannot say when they will have!
What the hell is going on, when you cannot get a standard service item for a 7 year old car?
Absolutely disgusted, as car could be off the road for weeks

Hi Craig
Apparently it is LR078913
We were told that they modified the tensioner pulley on this model year,

Steve
