breaking every USB plugs in the central console

Hello
i am using 12V to usb cigar lighter plugs as i guess every one
works fine in the central console, the two at the rear and in the boot
but the one near the fridge breaks/kills every one of those i plugged in
i checked, with a meter, i indeed have 12V i am lost
did this happened to any of you
also do you know how the plate with the usb, cigar plug and audio input can be remove
i would like to replace the cigar plug by a usb plug like one of these
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Chargeur-de-voi...SwGEJce-6h
but dont want to break anything while removing the panel

If you overload it by taking to much current the can bus will shut it down , even though it is only on with the ignition .

What are you charging ? the USB connectors are not high power and will not charge a modern phone such as a samsung s20 etc .

Ultimate solution is this
