Remove the cabin air filter box, ..2x 13mm nuts., seconds of a job.
Find something to stand on and get a good look down the back of the engine so you can see the bellhousoing.
If it’s clean and dry then you have ruled out the leaking O rings.
Mike.

The OP has a 405 sir, not a 322 which I'm sure you're referring too above? Question

He’s got an L322. Seen it in person Wink 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Coops, i think you should take her for a run then check the temp of each wheel and see if one is getting hotter than the others? This could point to a sticking caliper as mentioned above...

Secondly, Have a good look underneath and see if there are any signs of oil staining on the undertrays?

No undertrays or even an engine cover! Is there anything under there that would be clogged with mud? there was some oil on the front diff when I looked a few weeks ago and will look under there later.

Check the wheel/brake temp regularly as I’ve had an ongoing vibration issue - nothing wheel related gets hot after I replaced all the rear brakes and one caliper (the vibration persists but is bearable now) 1995 4.6 v8, green/tan (long gone)

I've noticed on my 4.4 TDV8 a *very* slight coolant leak from a hose connection on the RHS (offside) of the radiator. It's so slight that there's no drip (it evaporates off), giving a hot smell when you park up.

Might be worth a look down the front of the engine bay for any coolant loss from a hose connector or water pump.

I meant to change the hose on mine when I did the auxiliary drive belt tensioner and belts as I had it all exposed - but had forgotten to buy the hose Confused

On the list of jobs to do. Very Happy

Wouldn’t be surprised if part of the cooling did need some work.

Here is some oil (not running or leaking, just moist)..
