Delay when selecting reverse

Hi all

I noticed today that there was a delay of 1-2 seconds when selecting reverse gear. The car was up to normal temperature and is well serviced.

Is this normal?

Jim

I've got this. Sometimes does the same thing in 1st.

First thing to check is ATF fluid level. Might be a bit low. I'm suspicious of cracked mechatronic sleeves.

I have the same issue with my disco 2 although it's more noticeable from cold usually its a case of giving it a few more rev's, I'm not an expert but I wonder if its just something to do with the way the gear box/torque convertor works especially as I'm on top of replacing gear box fluid etc. since mine failed and had to be completely rebuilt.
