2005 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Adriatic Blue

Adaptive drive fault

Hi

Have the mentioned fault, and the wires are split ontop of the osf shock. They have snapped very close to the strut top. There is 2 torx screws keeping the top on which i need to remove to access the wires. Is it just a cap or is something bad going to happen when i take the screws out?
