I'm overwhelmed by the support and comments here, with particular thanks to Alistair, alanm_3, ABAB, gettingold, recordman, Highroller, MJGH, chris_read, Bill and LT. Especially to alan_m for his insight in seeing that some important principals were involved. However, on the positive side, I've just found that the outright abuse that I received from one infrequent visitor, that was the tipping point for me to leave, has since been removed
