I agree on alternator, I can monitor the voltage over time, and if it goes bad, not much harm. But how can i know that turbos not got disbalanced? Too much risks...

I’m surprised that the cost is so high.

In the UK we are looking at quite a lot under £10000 for an 09, and with that kind of mileage considerably less....

Here in France second hand car prices are usually much higher than in the UK. John

Leave them and see how they go, What risks??

Turbo chargers on these engines if looked after (and the engine has regular oil changes) will last hundreds of thousands of kilometers , Turbos fail because morons dont warm them up before giving the engine high rpm / load or let them cool down after use and let oil changes slip...

A Trap

I agree, costs of LR cars in Europe is much higher than the UK and choice is limited. I paid well into 20k’s for a 2008 that would have been well below 10k in the UK... Here in Spain although I looked across Europe for a LHD car, prices were similar to Spainish registered cars.

Spain 2011 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

Having recently looked and bought in Spain, a good second hand 4.4 V8 11MY with less than 150k (kilometres) on the clock will be pushing 30k EUR with a decent specification on it.

You can pick the same car up for 25k if you're willing to buy one with 250k (kilometres) + on the clock Censored

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Buckingham Blue

Cars in Europe are a lot more expensive than the U.K. , not exactly sure why but my theory is there is a much bigger pool of potential buyers whereas they aren’t interested in U.K. cars because the steering wheel is on the wrong side.
I know it’s pretty common for people to come over from Ireland to buy cars here though, even with their expensive import tax it can work out a bit cheaper, plus apparently we service/look after our cars better here, although I don’t think that’s always the case at all!.

One thing that is commented on here when a car goes for CT (MoT) is the amount of rust that is common in older imported UK cars. There isn't the same amount of salt used on the roads in winter here. John

A Trap

I agree with Weegie about salt etc, my 2008 FF with 140k km's looks brand new underneath, not one scab on the subframes and other steel parts or any corrosion on the alloy parts, a quick wipe off of the dust and it looks brand new underneath, also no rot in the tail gate or rear wings where they seem to go by the rear doors.

I see UK cars underneath and am horrified at the state they are in- think the Titanic looks in better condition to these UK cars.
