2013-2017 Style 707 black design wheels question

Does anyone owning an L405 with the black design package with the two tone (charcoal with black pockets) 22" wheels had them refinished? And if so, how did they come out? I had mine basically touched up, but they were not stripped and refinished. Thanks in advance!

I've not heard of anyone that has had the 2 tone ones refurbished / refinished.

The diamond cut ones can be done, but not heard of an aftermarket shop that can do the 2 different colours so most people seem to go all black.

A decent wheel refurbishment shop that does te work themselves should be able to do it. My daughter had a specific design in mind for her BBS wheels and BJV Engineering did them which ever way she wanted. Naturally it cost more than a standard colour refurb.

Hi Stan,
I should have posted a pic. Here it is. Apparently RR made 400 Black Design packages. Some including mine came with the style 707 "Black Pack Design with the charcoal spokes and black pockets. I have no idea how they painted the two-tone as you can't feel a line in-between the colors. Just curious if anyone had theirs refinished and how they came out. Mike

They did a run of them in the UK too, but not many.

AFAIK the spokes are Dark Atlas - and they look great when the rest of the trim is also Dark Atlas. The regular Atlas trim matches well with the diamond cut wheels.

I can only assume they had a specific mask to use with 2 different colours - hard to see any aftermarket place going to the effort - they just want to spray a single colour....

As per my link above, that is just not true. You can have wheels done any which way you want. And are willing to pay Wink

I defer to your greater knowledge - I didn't spend a long time on their site, but only saw single colour or diamond cut.

There is a bespoke option, but naturally they can’t provide online prices for those. 👍

There will be a price to mix the paints to your requirements, so more cost effective when you do all four or five at the same time. And if it needs more than one colour it will have to go through the process more than once but is not exponentially more costly.

The five BBS wheels was about £320 iirc. But those were only 15” for my daughters car.

As per Bl4ckD0g it can be done.
I have seen an example as below on https://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/ Facebook feed which is basically what you are talking about.

However as it seems you are based in the US the companies are not much use unless they will talk to you about the process and you then know what you are asking for etc.

They paint them black then diamond cut them then lacquer them with tinted lacquer, hence why you don't feel a masking line sir Thumbs Up

Thanks Craig! Its a very intimidating color as only a few shops I have run across around the US will do them and its about $300 USD per wheel. Mike
